Development of high-quality cardboard packaging

Our product development department creates innovative in-house packaging, but also creative customised packaging concepts that are completely individualised with a unique packaging design. In the process, one goes through several important processes:

1. Requirements analysis: The first step is to understand the customer's specific requirements. These include the type of product to be packaged in the box, the desired size of the box, the design, and any additional requests such as special colour preferences or finishing with logos.
2. Design concept: Based on the customer requirements, a design concept is developed. This includes the creation of sketches or 3D models to give an idea of how the finished box will look. Aspects such as functionality, aesthetics and brand identity are also taken into account.
3. Material selection: Choosing the right cardboard material is of great importance to ensure the desired quality and stability of the boxes. Different industries and products often require different types of cardboard, such as corrugated cardboard for shipping or stronger cardboard material for luxury sales packaging.
4. Prototyping: Once the design concept and material have been determined, a prototype of the box is produced, depending on the project. This allows the customer to examine the actual box, test it and make changes if necessary before larger-scale production takes place.

Cardboard boxes have long since proven themselves to be a practical and universal type of packaging. They bring a number of advantages that add value to a wide range of products, but also protect our environment. Here are the most important arguments in favour of cardboard packaging:

✅ Materials: Cardboard boxes are made from high-quality cardboard or corrugated cardboard. These materials are robust, lightweight and environmentally friendly. This is because they offer sufficient protection for the contents and are recyclable at the same time, making them a sustainable packaging option.

✅ Versatile formats: They are available in a variety of sizes to meet different requirements. They can be small and compact to pack single items or more spacious to accommodate multiple items. The flexible choice of sizes allows for an optimal fit to the contents and simplifies storage and transport.

✅ Possible applications: Cardboard boxes can be used universally and are used in a wide variety of industries with diverse products.

✅ Branding and individualisation: They offer an ideal surface for branding and individualisation. The lid can be printed in the company's own corporate design with a company logo, product image or other information to make the packaging attractive and recognisable. This allows companies to strengthen their brand identity and offer their customers a unique experience.

✅ Reusability: Another special feature and advantage of cardboard boxes is their reclosability. This is particularly practical for products that are not immediately completely consumed and are to be stored in them.

As soon as the packaging concept meets the requirements, the actual production of the cardboard boxes takes place.

• Cutting: After the material has been selected, the cardboard is cut according to the specified dimensions and shapes. High-precision cutting machines are used here, which cut the cardboard cleanly and precisely to obtain the desired parts for the box.
• Fold and glue: The next step is to fold the cut cardboard and form the box. Precise folding machines are used to fold the cardboard along the specified parameters and create the desired box shape. The various parts of the box are then joined together with special adhesives or tape to ensure a strong and durable bond.

• Printing and finishing: Depending on the customer's requirements, the cardboard box can be customised with printing and finishing techniques. This includes the use of colours, graphics, logos or texts printed on the cardboard. • Quality control: Regular quality checks are carried out throughout the production process to ensure that the cardboard boxes meet the required standards. This includes checking the dimensions, print quality, folding and gluing processes as well as the overall durability of the packaging.

Once the cardboard boxes are finished, they are prepared for shipping and securely packed to ensure timely and reliable delivery of the boxes to the customer. 

• Packaging and shipping preparation: When an order is received, the cardboard boxes are packed according to the customer's specific requirements. This may include filling the boxes with the appropriate products, adding protective materials such as bubble wrap or filling materials, and closing and labelling the boxes. Preparation for shipping also includes creating shipping labels and organising transport.
• Transport and shipping: Cardboard boxes are usually transported via various shipping methods such as land or sea freight, depending on the distance and customer requirements. Shipping service providers and freight forwarders are contracted to transport the boxes safely and on time to their destination. The use of tracking systems makes it possible to monitor the progress of the delivery and inform the customer about the status of their shipment.
• Warehouse distribution and retail deliveries: In many cases, carton boxes are delivered to wholesalers, retailers or distribution centres, which then redistribute the packaging to end customers. Logistics processes involve coordinating and organising deliveries to different locations to ensure efficient and timely supply. Just-in-time deliveries can also be used to ensure that the boxes arrive exactly when they are needed.
• Tracking and customer service: Throughout the logistics and delivery process, it is important to provide customers with a high level of transparency and communication. Being able to track the shipping status of carton boxes and receive updates on delivery progress contributes to customer satisfaction. In the event of problems or delays, effective customer service is required to offer solutions and address customers' concerns.
